This latest wave has come from the delay of the IPO we mentioned above. The first wave of rumours that Roblox would be shutting down has been traced back to a hoax website called React2424 that publishes pretty much only fake articles that are then passed off as news. No company in their right mind would shut that down. With over 100 million enthusiast users, revenue so far of over $1 billion, and at least $70 million having been paid to creators, Roblox is a strong and healthy prospect.
And it’s commonsense, when you think about it. But let’s put this rumour to rest right now: Roblox Corporation - and all your Roblox games - are not, we repeat NOT, shutting down. There are reasons for the delay, which we will outline further down. Likewise, Roblox has been the target of rumours in 2020 and now into 2021, with the latest chatter being sparked by the delay of Roblox Corporation’s IPO (initial public offering) on the stock exchange. However, it was not a fire sale Zynga eventually paid $1.8 billion for Peak, with never any thought of shutting its popular games down. Last year saw plenty of claims that Micecraft was closing down, then Toon Blast and Toy Blast - that latter rumour started as a result of the Blast games creator Peak Games being on the market.
